![]() I've already been heavily disappointed when they decided to venture into NFTs. In fact, since then I've received even more claims on more videos.Īt this point, I'm around 95% sure I'll be saying goodbye to Monstercat. I've gotten NO response to this day, and the claim removal field did nothing. I've also attempted to get the claims removed thru the Remove Video Claims field in the Gold panel, as well as double-checked that my channel ID is still on the white-list. Last week, upon receiving 4 claims across 3 Livestream VODs, I've tweeted at Monstercat as well as emailed them about the issue. I've made sure to never use music that has the "Not available for content creators" flag too, I also checked if perhaps the songs that are getting claimed have been given the flag, but nope - according to the website they are STILL fair play to use. Eventually I did learn to make great use of the music and didn't have much trouble, but of course that required quite a bit more effort than if I went with something like Epidemic Sounds for example to begin with. When I intially got Gold it was 5$ a month, which was about half as expensive as most other offerings, and while the music selection can be a bit limiting for YouTube videos sometimes, I decided I'll try to make it work, as I've heard a lot of good stuff about Monstercat from other content creators. Besides, if I pay 7.5$ a month to not get claims, and then get claims anyway with ZERO communication, it is NOT okay. Hence why I've always only used music that's either claim-free or licensable, such as Monstercat music with the Gold subscription. I've always valued not getting claims, as I want to keep content I produce *mine*, and getting a claim is incredibly invalidating in that regard. ![]() I've been using Monstercat music in my videos for over 600 days by now. Just a heads-up for any content creators who are considering using Monstercat's Gold music license.
